The Dean

Professor I. B. Kashim became the 8th Dean of the School of Environmental Technology after assuming office of Dean, School of Environmental Technology on the1st August, 2017. He's a renown Professor of Cereramics in the Department of Industrial Design, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. He hold a bachelors degree B.A. Hons in Industrial Design (1985), a masters degree M.A. in Industrial Design (1993) both from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a doctorate degree Ph.D in Industrial Design (2005) at the Federal University of Technology, Akure with Research focused on Economic Survey of Ceramic Raw Materials in Nigeria for the Production of Porcelain, that is, technical ceramics comprising of (laboratory wares, electrical insulator, ball mill lining and ceramic white ware decoratives)

Professor Kashim have exhibited ceramic works both at national and international exhibitions comprising of porcelain wares, hand building ceramics, thrown pieces using the potters wheel and creative slab works. He has delivered academic papers at several international conferences some of which have been published in more than fifty two (52) journal outlets.

His experience in teaching has cut across Secondary Schools as Fine-Art teacher, Polytechnics as ceramic lecturer and currently the Federal University of Technology, Akure as a Professor of Ceramics with the department of Industria Design.

Professor Kashim has also worked as Production Manager at Ceramic Manufacturers, Nigeria Plc, Challawa, Kano. He belong to several profession association such as Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA), Ceramic Researcher Association (CerAN) and have so far supervised five (5) graduatePh.D, fifteen (15) M.Tech and more than forty (40) B. Tech students. he has more than 10 Ph.d, M.Tech on-going postgraduate supervisions.
